Since I sold my little starlet before I left for
I got so used to moving around with my own car,
and I had forgotten how to live without it.
Well, no choice, I just have to take the Matatu,
the most popular way of moving around in
I used to use it everyday when I was a student, but I was a bit nervous to
get on a matatu by myself after so many years.
It’s full of dangers…overcharging a foreigner, pick-pockets, accidents,
car-jacking…
But it was quite fun after all.
Unbelievable driving manners, people talking in Kiswahili,
aunties pushing their big butts, kids staring at me shyly,
loud music, the door looking like it’s about to fall apart…
